Question Is there any significance attached to asymmetry of the lateral ventricles in a patient whose brain parenchyma is otherwise normal?
Answer Dr. James Abraham responds:

Asymmetry of the lateral ventricles certainly can be normal, however it can also be abnormal as in the case of atrophy or mass effect. As a result, one must first look carefully for pathology before calling asymmetry of the lateral ventricles normal.
