“In the India subcontinent, as in many parts of the lesser developed world, access to knowledge is greatly diminished. Journals and textbooks are prohibitively expensive and largely unavailable. Experienced teachers are scarce. The Internet and electronic media appear to be a logical solution for bridging the educational gap in these regions. The cost is quite small while the penetration and potential value of the Internet seems infinite.”
